Meet Our Team
Our team of hearing aid specialists and audiologists
Kate returned to Evanston Audiology part-time in January, 2017. She spent several years working here while completing her Ph.D. in Audiology at Northwestern University. Upon completion of her degree, she accepted a faculty position at Rush University.
She is an assistant professor and Assistant Audiology Clinical Education Manager in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences.
As a licensed and nationally certified audiologist, she has facilitated student clinical placements and supervised audiology students in the clinic at Rush University since 2013. Her teaching and research interests focus on the evaluation of the peripheral auditory system, signal processing and calibration. Previous projects have examined the ability of objective measures to detect ototoxic-induced changes to hearing, effect of headphone placement on extended high-frequency sensitivity and the effect of stimulus parameters on otoacoustic emission phase and level behavior.
Dr. Dunckley has served as a past-treasurer for the Illinois Academy of Audiology and currently serves as a trustee and consultant for Chicago Tap Theatre’s “Feel the Rhythm” project, which offers tap lessons to hearing-impaired children. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and the Auditory Society of America.
We are more than pleased to have Dr. Dunckley lend her time and talent once again to Evanston Audiology. She is looking forward to reconnecting with previous patients and working with new ones.
Peter Shiel is our Hearing Instrument Dispenser. He completed his apprenticeship with Dr. Mayo and is now licensed in the state of Illinois as an independent hearing healthcare provider. He supports Dr. Dunckley and the practice by competing instrument cleaning, repairs, reprogramming, and orientation. He is our go to for all connectivity and accessory questions! Peter grew up in Prospect Height. When he's not at work he enjoys cooking, especially trying out new hot sauces!
